The DAWGMATCH team consists of a group of ambitious students in the New Media Certificate program at UGA looking to expand our knowledge of new and social media technologies by creating a Facebook application to better connect our client, the UGA Alumni Association, with their growing alumni base.

DAWGMATCH chose Facebook Open Graph technology as the most effective platform for our project and business objectives. Facebook Open Graph API was introduced in April of 2010 as a revolutionary set of programming tools that allows third parties to get information in and out of Facebook. Simply put, Open Graph is a pull of data that users have entered into Facebook, ranging from information as basic as the users' location to music preferences and status updates. Facebook allows third parties to access this data as long as the user permits the authorization. Open Graph allows businesses to create applications to fit users needs and wants, and in DAWGMATCH's case, to pull their data in order to create the most accurate comparisons between fellow UGA alumni.
